Rising Match Report

Editorial policy

Rising Match Report aims to make football coverage clear, fair and accountable. We distinguish what is known from what is inferred, explain our reasoning, and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.

Accuracy and uncertainty

We take care with names, match details and tactical descriptions, and use reliable material appropriate to the claim being made. Previews describe possibilities, not settled facts about future events. Where information is incomplete or interpretations differ, we say so rather than smoothing away uncertainty.

Independence and interests

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure a favourable mention or outcome for a club, product or partner. Any relevant conflict that could affect a piece will be disclosed alongside it. We do not present promotional claims as independent editorial judgement.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or a passage that needs clarification, use the Contact page and identify the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, update the text with a clear correction note where appropriate.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. Partner placement does not guarantee favourable editorial treatment. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are identified as illustrations and are not presented as documentary match imagery.
